What does it mean Maintenance Fees? Is database upgrade included or I have to buy database upgrade?

Dear All

I am currently buying the Ecoinvent Database and thinking about buying Database Maintenance. However, there is no any description on how database is maintained.

Also, does Database Maintenance include database upgrade (if new version is issued during the Maintenance Contract) so that I don't have to buy database upgrade?

For ecoinvent, maintenance is a yearly fee they charge to grant access to updates that happen in this year. When you purchase the database, the first year maintenance is included.

For other databases, this may vary, depending on their decisions and strategy.
