Those of you working with BAFU might have found the lack of recycled material input.

To include recycled material input, I planned to export the respective system processes of the PEF database and import them into the existing BAFU database.
As both include the EF 3.1 impact assessment method, I expected that system to be functioning with that assessment.

It seems that the elementary flows of BAFU and PEF are named differently, also the impact assessment method recognizes different elementary flows, leading to zero values of the imported datasets.

If I import the ef3.1 IAM from PEF database and select "overwrite all data", the imported processes can be evaluated, but the rest of BAFU becomes zero values.
Hence, currently I will destroy my BAFU database to include PEF processes of I need to keep two identical databases at the same status and add the results of both.

Has anybody found a way to avoid creating mapping files for all the elementary flows, or another way to include recycled input materials into BAFU systems?

Hi Johannes, well the license situation "around" the EF database is a bit unclear now but I think it is still so that you cannot / should not merge it with other databases as it was always meant to be used in isolation.

It seems that the elementary flows of BAFU and PEF are named differently,

Yes, the entire reference flow system is different, by intention (so not only the names but the ids of the flows as well).

Others can of course comment here as well. Thank you!
