Hello,

I have a question regarding a calculation result in OpenLCA.

I am currently using ecoinvent 3.10 LCIA Methods / EF v3.1, and I would like to inquire about the CO₂ emission value calculated for a specific process under this database and method.

Process information:

  • Name: glass fibre production | glass fibre | Cutoff, S

  • UUID: 7df4c902-493b-4f93-9571-ea010ed99838

When calculating with a target amount of 1 kg, the Climate change result is 5.16217 kg CO₂ eq.

This value appears to be higher than typical values reported for general glass fibre (GF). Additionally, when compared with a colleague who downloaded and used the same database version, my result is higher.

Could you please advise on the possible reasons for this discrepancy?
Also, how can I resolve this issue or adjust the value if necessary?
Alternatively, could you please confirm whether 5.16217 kg CO₂ eq is indeed the correct result for this process and method?

Thank you in advance for your support.

Best regards,

Hi,

depending on your license, you can also check the results using the EcoQuery of ecoinvent directly. I now downloaded the 3.10 system process version (2)  freshly from Nexus. In both cases, the result using EF 3.1 LCIA method is not equivalent to your result. I can just recommend downloading the database from Nexus and trying again. It is very unlikely that you modified the data, as you are using the system process version, but still.

Hope this helps
