Ecoinvent API support in openLCA

Question

Hi, I've just learned about the release of the ecoinvent API (https://ecoinvent.org/ecoinvent-api/). Is this API supported, or going to be supported in openLCA?

Yes we saw this (personally I would think it is more interesting for ecoinvent to work on the database - update and extension of datasets - than on tooling around it, but up to ecoinvent of course) - maybe I can use your question for a general question:
What would be the benefit for openLCA users to access this API in openLCA? What do you all think?

Dear Andreas, thank you for your answer and honest comment! From my personal perspective, the biggest benefit would be an "automatic" upgrade of the ecoinvent datasets to the latest version. On the other hand, that might also introduce new problems related to version control and such, so it might be good to include the option of freezing the version in a given state.
