I receive the error "Failed to connect to node - javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: PKIX path building failed" when trying to connect to an EPD host via soda4LCA in openLCA 2.6.1. I do not know how to import EPDs via soda4LCA without resolving this issue.

I just tested in 2.7 and it works there (I tested the Ökobaudat server). Could be that some servers we have in the soda4LCA list are not stable or have gone "out of business"´, we will update this list from time to time.

Is there anything I can do to resolve the issue on my end? I've tried connecting through different WiFi networks yet the issue persists

update openLCA and otherwise check which server you use, the major ones typically work.

I've updated openLCA and the issue is still there. How can I check/adjust which server I'm using?

you select the server in the openLCA UI (see above, I was selecting ... oekobaudat..., from the dropdown list)

Hello Andreas, thank you for the help so far. However, I am still receiving this error for all servers.

hm - but you have an internet connection? Maybe a firewall setting could prevent openLCA to connect to these servers, but that is about it. You could book a modeler support hour and we could look into your configuration.

Hello, I've resolved this issue by working with my company's IT team. The solution, at a high level, involved importing the network certificate file associated with one of the servers (ex. EPD Italy) into the openLCA file directory on my computer.

One new issue is connecting to the TianGong LCI client. The error that appears is "Unknown host exception: lcadata.tiangong.world". It appears this URL does not exist.

thank you! Indeed some hosts do not use soda4lca any more it seems or are otherwise down - we'll update the list now more frequently with releases. EPD Italy works for me directly, thus this could be a security setting on your end (to only accept "certificate-enhanced" hosts).

Gotcha makes sense. Is there a way to download data from the TianGong database and import it into openLCA? I've tried with one .zip file but the imported process and flow properties were completely empty.

I did not investigate too much but possibly the TianGong implementation of the JSON-LD format is incomplete
