Good afternoon,

I have a production process that generates waste (excess input material that cannot be recycled). The waste is a mixture of carbon black and graphite powder that can be collected. It's not emitted directly into the air but after collection it will be put into municipal waste so I guess it will be burned or lost as an emission into the air before arriving at the waste treatment facility.

I use the EF3.0 method to evaluate my model. Carbon black is listed as an elemental emission flow, but has no impact in any of the categories within the EF3.0 method (shouldn't it be characterised for particulate matter?). And graphite does not exist as an elemental emission stream.

Do you have any idea how to deal with this?

Should I consider both substances as particulate matter in my process output?

Thanks in advance!

Kind regards, Benedikt
