Hello,

I tried to export the Project I am working on to JSON-LD, in order to share it with colleagues. I use the export function, check only my project, processes, products and flows (see screen shot). I also tick the box 'Export default providers etc.", but my export results in an error: "Failed to export data sets".

The export did however create a json-ld file. I have both the Log file and the zip-file that was created. Can you check what went wrong, and if the exported file is ok (even with the error message)?

Hello,

Answering your email with the ZIP file and the log.

I can see that the issue is caused by a StackOverflowError, meaning that increasing the memory for openLCA can help. To do that, File → Preferences → Configuration → Increase the Maximum memory usage.

Note that I did not have issue opening the ZIP file in openLCA (this does not mean that the export is successful):

  • create a new database with Complete reference data,
  • File -> Import -> File and select the ZIP file

I am using ecoinvent v3.10 Cutoff Unit-Processes 2024-06-19

When I export with the checkbox 'export default ....' unchecked, there is no error and the resulting zip contains everything. But it's a very big file (159 MB), making it hard to share with others.

Hello Tony,

I've come to a final answer on the matter. In your case, it seems that you should avoid exporting your data with the default providers. We've identified a bug that could cause issues, and we'll be working to fix it as soon as possible. You can keep an eye on the changelog of upcoming versions to see when we’ve fixed the issue.

Thanks for posting your issue, it really helps to improve openLCA!
