Dear community,

my students are struggling to install the methods package (downloaded from nexus, version 2.7) in openLCA 2.4.1 using ecoinvent 3.10

In some cases the methods do not get installed but the impact categories connected to them, in some cases not even the impact categories get added. The installation procedure follows the workflow recommended by Green Delta: File -> import -> other - > JSON-LD -> select zipped Methods file. Others did not run into problems installing the methods at all.

Might there be a problem with the newest release? Is a downgrade to 2.3 which reportedly worked flawlessly last year the only solution?

Thanks in advance.

Dear Jan,

When importing the JSON-LD file, you’ll be prompted to choose how to handle existing datasets in your database. If you already have a previous version of the method pack imported and want to upgrade it, it’s recommended to select the "Overwrite everything" option. After the process is complete, the folder from the older pack will remain but will be empty and can be safely deleted. Could this be the reason your students are experiencing issues when importing the method pack?

Hi Jan,
We are conducting some tests to see what can be the issue. In the meantime, feel free to share other details or relevant information. For example, if there are errors, those could be visible in the log file.

Hi Jan,

I tried to reproduce the issue and I could not. Could you share which ecoinvent version/system model you are using? If the issue persists, feel free to reach out to the GreenDelta team.
