Handling of occupation and transformation of area for power plants (ELCD Database)

Hi,

for fossile power plants the transformation to industrial area and traffic area are included in elcd_greendelta database. The reverse transformations at the end of life are not included. In contrast to this for wind power plants no occupation or transformation of area are included at all. This can falsifiy the impact for land use in comparison of fossile and renewable energy.

Hi! Well observed. However, it is not us who maintains the ELCD database and we do not have any influence on this. I suggest you to direct your request directly to the maintainers of the ELCD database. For professional use you may want to resort to a more consistent database for openLCA.
