We are currently planning an installation of openLCA Collaboration Server and noticed that MariaDB is specified as the recommended database in the installation guide.
Before moving forward, we would appreciate a written clarification regarding Microsoft SQL Server support.
- Is Microsoft SQL Server supported in the latest version of openLCA Collaboration Server?
- If so, is it officially supported or only possible through custom configuration?
- Is there any documentation or recommended architecture for a SQL Server based installation?
- Are there any known limitations or considerations compared to MariaDB?
Our preference would be to use SQL Server if it is supported, as it would simplify database administration, backup, monitoring, and lifecycle management within our existing IT environment.
We understand that MariaDB is the database mentioned in the installation guide, but we have received indications that SQL Server may have been possible to use in previous versions. Therefore, we would like to confirm what applies to the current version and what is covered by official support.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
