I get the error 'calculation failed' with some Ecoinvent processes, for example Polyethylene high density. The calculation cannot be run. In the logfile I see the error

Failed to load libraries from folder <openLCA>/Julia

We obtained the Ecoinvent databases version 1.8 by downloading directly from nexus.openlca.org.

Another problem is that we cannot restore databases. The error is: 'Failed to import databases'. Are these errors perhaps correlated? What could be the problem and the solution?

Are you maybe using a Mac system? Or any system where you do not store openLCA on your local computer? And Do you have sufficient space on your harddisc for restoring the database?
