For the making of a PEP ecopassport it is required that the LCA study has been made compliant to the ISO14040. I've read that it is POSSIBLE to make it compliant, but I need to know how then?

Kind regards,

I think I wrote you in an email sth like: For ISO 14040, this compliance cannot be guaranteed automatically for all models you do in openLCA. Only for predefined, specific cases (oneclicklca has some few, I think). We have also developed specific tools for specific cases, and there this automation it is possible. In openLCA you can model everything and this is impossible to make ISO 14040 compliant upfront, but it is of course possible to make ISO 14040 compliant studies in openLCA.

A large part of ISO compliance is also how you describe goal and scope and achieve / meet then goal and scope in the model, which goes somewhat beyond software. And plus, according to ISO 14040, you need to have a review panel that states that your model and study is ISO compliant, if you want to publish a product comparison.

I hope this is useful.
