The program failed installation for other or current user.

Question

The program will not load on my computer.  Additional an error message appeared saying, "Microsoft Edge can't read and writer to its data directory:" keeps appearing.  Then the screen says "Failed to create the part's controls".

Hi,

I see this was asked in 2023 which was a while ago but did you ever find the problem with this?

I'm having the same issue but wondering if its a permissions issue as trying to install it on a work laptop.

You need to have permission to extract the zip archive (for windows) and to start openLCA.exe, that is it normally. Do not let an admin install openLCA as the data folder is then not accessible for you. If needed, change the location of the data folder to one in your user directory (where you have write access).
