Hello Everyone,

I am working on an calculation made with the EF database.and openLCA 2.1.1.

I have created my processes and product systems, but when I generate the calculation with the EF 3.1 method I only get 0 as an output of the Climate Change impact category, and I don't actually understand why: all other categories work just fine and if I check my contribution tree by flow, I can see the values of the carbon dioxide (fossil) - Emissions to air/Emissions to air, unspecified flow. Why are these values not reflected in the impact category tree?

Thank you for your input,

Andrea

Hi Andrea,

could you shortly state which EF database you are using? And you use the method provided in the database or imported the method package? The flow you used has the respective characterization factor in the Climate Change method (you can open the flow and there should be a characterization factor in the respective tab). So, this should no be the issue.

Hi Jonas!

thanks for your feedback. I am using EF 2022-02, I imported the openLCA LCIA Methods v 2.4.2 dated 30.05.24.  In fact, now that you told me, using the method provided delivers the result correctly... Does this mean that I should not use imported method packages?

Thanks again, this was very helpful!

Correctly,
we don'T recommend using other methods with the EF database than EF impact method itself. This information was mentioned in the documentation (database note for EF 2.0 on nexus).
