We are simulating a synthesis of methanol production from syngas. We have put all the input values into the system which consists of:

1. mixing stage, 2. compressor, 3.cooler 1, 4.reactor, 5. cooler 2, 6. separator 1, 7. separator 2.

Out of the reactor, how can we keep the components of the rest gases. We have set the methanol produced to be the quantitative reference, but then we lose the rest (CO, CO2,H2 and H2O).

We have considered making a separate process that brings those components back into the system after the reactor and before the cooler2, but this has been unsuccessfull.

You should update to newer openLCA versions if you still use openLCA 2.0.0 - yes this modeling is typically a bit outside of LCA and rather MFA, but it is possible, we have done somthing similar for the incineration plant that we released for openLCA. It can be done e.g. via parameters. If you want, we can support (but for a fee, modeler hours from Nexus). Thank you!
