Since I updated the database from ecoinvent 3.10 to 3.11, openLCA is running really slow, crashing constantly, and basically unusable.

I follow all the recomendations from database update, I redid it several times, nothing seems to work. A simple database update takes hours and every single atempt of calculations crashes the program.

Anyone experience this after the update? How did you fix it?

What happens if you use the ecoinvent 3.11 database as it is, without any modifications? Do you get the same issues there?

I'm afraid there is something wrong in your "update routine" of importing and exporting data sets. Please also make sure to not select "Export default provider" in the ecoinvent unit process database where you are exporting from, since this will try to export all 22000 data sets and is not meant to be used for the background database.

Another source of error could be that you try to merge databases. The easiest is to export your own processes (takes a few seconds and only a few Megabyte in size) and import them into a new, clean and untouched ecoinvent 3.11 database from Nexus.

Yeah, I'm quite new to this so I wasn't much sure what I was doing. Guess I'll just have to start over.
Thanks for your answer!

I recommend using the libraries now, this makes ecoinvent in openLCA really fast. Otherwise, ecoinvent models became a bit bigger and it is possible that the memory you allocated for openLCA is not enough any more. Check this in the task manager e.g. and allocate more if possible.

Thank you for your answer. I'll have to learn how to use the libraries, as I haven't tried yet. But I had allocated more than 30gb of memory just for openLCA, and my task manager says is still not even using 50% of it.
