I've created a product system which contains the following until processes:

  • Construction
  • Manufacturing
  • Blending
  • Use
  • Disposal

The above processes link in the order given except the disposal phase only links to the construction phase as the output from construction is the input to this process.

If I create the product system using the use phase as the reference flow, the disposal phase does not appear in the model graph. However I know that it is linked properly because if I create a product system using the disposal phase as the reference flow the construction unit process is visible in the model graph only.

Am I using the right reference flow and is there a way to view all processes above in parallel in the model graph?

You do not post a picture but I guess you have modeled the connection from use phase to end of life as a product flow, not as a waste flow. Product flows are always only followed through the supply chain (from the product to its producing process, downstream). Waste is always followed through the treatment chain (from the waste to the waste treating process, upstream). This is because otherwise, a calculation of any product would include all the other processes where this product is used.

Hope this helps,
