Ecoinvent educational license

Question

Hello,

I want to buy an ecoinvent license from OpenLCA Nexus to use it in a research project.

Is it ok to buy an Educational license for this purpose? Is the educational license limited in functionalities compared to the commercial license?

Also, if I buy an Educational single-user license, is it possible that I access the database from two different computers (my desktop and my laptop)? If I can only use it from one computer, what happens if that computer breaks down, can I transfer the license to another computer?

Finally, can I access the database from my computer when I travel? Meaning, is the license connected to the specific computer wherever that is or it has to be connected through the specific University's network?

Dear Katarina,

Students, professors and researchers of academic institutions (schools, colleges and universities) qualify for educational licenses, which can be used for academic purposes only. Therefore, please check if you belong to any of these categories. The educational license has no limited functionalities in comparison to the commercial one. 

If you buy a single-user licence, you can install it on two different computers but you cannot use ecoinvent on the two computers at the same time, only one at a time. And indeed you can use ecoinvent when travelling, no need to be connected to any network.
