I have a non-OECD education license for ecoinvent in OpenLCA. However, my future research will be with a university in an OECD country for an externally funded project, which requires a commercial license for using ecoinvent.

Is it possible that the existing license can be upgraded/changed without having to reinstall ecoinvent databases in OpenLCA? Since the project will be an extension of my current work, I want to preserve the changes I have done in the databases over the past years.

Hi, interesting question, yes, since physically the databases are identical, you only need to get a different license (from Nexus, and we need to inform ecoinvent then).

Best wishes,
