Create a dynamic parameter linked to a database

Question

Is it possible to create a parameter without a fixed value but creating a conection to an external database getting the value (that can dynamically change) with a SQL query?

When i say "external database" I am not referring about the nexus database but a generical company database where, among the different data, there is one datum I want to use as parameter.

Thanks for this suggestion. In this case they show how to create an external python  program to retreive data. Does anyone know how to import a value saved into a database directly from the program? Thanks
