Carbon sequestration and LCIA

Hi,

I am modelling wooden products and I try to understand how carbon sequestration is handled by CML 2001 and ILCD 2011 GWP in "openlca_lcia_methods_1_5_4". Does they only consider the actual content of biogenic carbon in the product or they give further credit for the carbon storage similar to the instructions of ILCD handbook?

Hi Kostas,

It seems that both methods includes a negative CF (-1 kg CO2e / kg elementary flow) for carbon dioxide "pumped" by the tree during its growth. You can see in ecoinvent unit processes for tree growing that the resource "carbon dioxide, in air" is used as an input.
