hi, i'm working on a LCA project and i was wondering if i can work on processes using excel (more user friendly and faster) and then importing them in openLCA. So, first, i exported in excel format a new blank process to have a model to work with, and then after filling it with some flows, just for try, i imported it back to openLCA, but here comes the problem. Basically the importing process never ends, remaining stuck on the importing activity window.

Does anyone has the same problem? There is a solution? Maybe i need to call the excel file with different name or change the UUID code?

thanks in advance for the help

In the export that you did, is there a bunch of content already there in the Flows, Flow properties, Units, etc. tabs? If not, (like you exported an excel sheet from a mostly blank database), generally all those sheets need to be filled. If there are flows there, and you're not creating any new flows or anything, it shouldn't be a problem. We've generally found that the excel import well let you mess up a bunch of stuff but still work (like replacing the same flow over and over again because the UUID is the same for all the flows).

I got a similar export/import problem here. Using the official tutorial with PET bottle from http://openlca.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/bottles_solved_20200213.zolca, excel export does show all the data.

But: changing just one information (e.g. process name, flow value, etc.) and importing everything from excel does not change anything in the project, except generating a new process with "general information:null" header and no content inside.

Seems to be a bug in my opinion?
