Hello,

I am using ecoinvent 3.5 to model PV electricity production.

The problem is that the impacts of regionalized processes are the same.

For example:

electricity production, photovoltaic, 3kWp slanted-roof installation, multi-Si, panel, mounted | electricity, low voltage | APOS,U  CA, AB

electricity production, photovoltaic, 3kWp slanted-roof installation, multi-Si, panel, mounted | electricity, low voltage | APOS,U  CA, ON

I also select the "Regionalised LCIA" when creating the product system. However, there is an error:

"The regionalised information are not available for this system"

Hi, it depends of course which LCIA method you are using.

For the "simple" regionalised LCIA, which only uses a regionalised LCI database, it depends also on the resolution of the LCI database and the corresponding resolution of the LCIA method (GWP will of course always give the same results, e.g.); if the category you are looking at does not distinguish between CA, AB and CA, ON you will not see differences.

The dedicated regionalised LCIA needs shape files which are provided for currently some few methods only, if these are not available in the database you are currently using, this calculation does not make sense.

I hope this helps!

Could you please tell me which ecoinvent or openlca LCIA method works for regionalised ecoinvent processes?

Again, which imapct categories do you want to assess?

GWP, Land Use, Ecotoxicity, Particulate Matter, and Water Consumption
