Hi,

I am new to openLCA. There are different formats of a database, and I wonder what is the difference between them? And how can I choose one instead of another one in modelling?

Best regards,

Hi Emma,

a zolca file is one entire openLCA database, compressed, while JSON-LD is a format to share and read any element in openLCA "individually", from unit groups to flows to processes to product systems and LCIA methods, etc. It allows to handle each element separately, and in import, you can decide whether to overwrite already existing elements in the database, or not.
