#Flows name consistency accross free databases at OpenLCA Nexus

I am starting to work with EF free database from OpenLCA Nexus. The question is that I have also downloaded different LCA Impact/Evaluation Methods.

Then, I have run the Impact analysis of different Processes and found that using Environmental Footprint (Mid-Point) I got values in the Climate Change field while using IPCC GWP 100y not.

I deep dive in the model and noted the differences come from the definition of the flows itself.

I mean in Environmental Footprint (Mid-Point), CO2 fossil is defined as "CO2 (fossil)" while in IPCC is defined as "CO2, fossil". Then, being the same property the way it is defined makes "CO2, fossil" invisible when using EF Database and IPCC GWP 100 y impact method.

Then, how can I solve/fix this issue?

Hi Carlos, the EF database is like a silo, on purpose as decided by the EC, with own reference flows, and thus is not consistent with other databases on Nexus. You can use it only with the EF LCIA methods.
