Hello,

I am currently modelling the emissions of a product and wanted to ask how one could account for the extra emissions resulting from repair of a product.
For example, the headphone product has an average lifespan of 5 years, however as a *scenario* if refurbished, it adds an extra 3 years of use.

What is the best way to compare the footprint of the product and the different scenario? If I use a functional unit of 10 years use, it still shows the refurbishment as being higher emissions:

Standard: 10 years - then there are two full cradle to grave lifecycles modelled

Refurbishment scenario: 10 years - the first headphone will last 8 years, however you then need to buy a second one. Therefore, the footprint is even higher.

Please advise what is the best method to account/allocate for different repair/refurbishment scenarios. TIA
