Dear all,

I am trying to simulate the production process of certain machine elements. The main raw materials are different steel alloys (for example 42CrMo4, 10Cr6, S355J2+N, S690Q).

Currently I am using the Ecoinvent 3.9.1 database but there I have not been able to find a great variety of steel alloys.

In my initial simulations, I have found that the steel production process is indeed, the process that contributes the most to the overall impacts. To improve the quality of my results, I thought I should use the appropiate steel types as input, maybe by gathering them from other databases, export them to my Ecoinvent database and then continue my simulation.

Would that be a good approach? Are there any open access databases that have a broader catalogue of steel types and can be integrated with Ecoinvent?

Many thanks in advance,

Moises
