Hi,

I have an openLCA 2.0.4. I have downloaded the free exiobase database -exiobase3_monetary...I have also downloaded the openLCA LCIA methods v.2.0.4 - according to the number of the version of my openLCA (if I have done this wrong, tell me please :) ). When I import the file into this database, it starts the import, runs it for a while and then shuts down the whole openLCA for me. The same happens when I would like to do a direct calculation in the same database, even though I have increased the memory to 150 000 MB so that I do not have any problems with memory.

Could you please help me with this issue?

Thanks a lot.

Wow so 150 GB is not needed. The LCIA method import takes some memory but not extremely much. Are you certain that the memory change is indeed effective? Does the log file contain anything suspicious (can also be: hard disc full, see other posts here)?

For the calculation with exiobase, the trick is to use direct calculation, so not to do a product system, this will save a lot of resources.

Good luck!

I also want to add that the openLCA LCIA methods package version v2.0.4 is not related to the openLCA software version v2.0.4. This is just a coincidence that the newest openLCA software version release has now version v2.0.4, but the newest openLCA methods package version is currently v2.3.2. The versions of the software and the versions of the methods package increase independently.

Secondly, the exiobase database comes with its own included impact methods and this database is not compatible to the openLCA methods package. Since exiobase is an input/output database, the elementary flows are completely different to any "standard" LCIA method from Nexus and no openLCA LCIA methods package should be imported into the input/output databases in general.
