Good question, so far no. We decided some time ago against it since this is less "intrusive" (openLCA does not reach out to check for a version number). It is not so problematic however, you can (on Windows) download the zip version, extract this, and run it, and if there is a new version (which you will see e.g. via linkedin) you again download the zip, extract it, run it, and you can delete the old folder from the previous zip extraction. Or you can keep the older version as well. The databases and content are stored somewhere else, under "openLCA-data-1.4" (or at the location you specify) thus this does not collide.
