Hi, I wanted to ask if in case we do not have a source of data then can we manually put the values and calculate carbon footprint by manually putting emission factor and doing calculation. Please guide.

Hi,
I hope I understood it correctly. openLCA gives you the freedom to perform this type of calculation. You could make processes that have your product as output as well as the respective emission factor to produce it. Then you use this product flow in other processes and the respective emission factor is linked to it. You can also use just product flows if you want. Later, have the inventory calculated and manually calculate the PCF with the respective emission factor. Both work out.

Hope this helps,

Hey, Thank you for the reply.

But this is what I wanted to ask how do I enter the emission factor in openLCA.

For better understanding: Suppose I manufacture a product and there 10 inputs. I know the supplier data information of 9 inputs, so I chose them form ecoinvent and I had to do nothing. But for the 10th input, I have no data in ecoinvent, but I know the amount consumed and its emission factor. Then how do I inculde my 10th input without linking it to ecoinvent or any database, so that its value is also counted in the whole product system.
