Brethren, I have a problem with openlca MULTI_OUTPUT PROCESS. DO you know that I have two different PROCESSES I produced, And they are the same. Example

Process 1- pharmaceutical products

Process 2 - pharmaceutical products(2)

THESE INPUTS AND OUTPUTS ARE THE SAME YET WIT DIFFERENT REQUIRED AMOUNTS AND RESULTS.

Process 1 has 17 output processes like stage 1, 2, 3, 4......17 having a FU of last product as 1mg.

Process 2 has 17 output processes like stage 1, 2, 3, 4......17 having a FU of last product as 1mg.

Yet, I  do get DIFFERENT ''RESULTS'' and DIFFERENT ''REQUIRED AMOUNTS''

Please why are these calculations always not consistent in its calculations?

Why I concluded this openlca is not consistent, I replicated processes with the same input and outputs. These have been tested using different process 1, process 2 process 3 with 3 consecutively different results and required amount being different from each other.

Hello, I think I do not understand, you are a bit familiar with LCA methodology I assume? Can you explain what you mean by "process 1 has 17 output processes like stage" etc. - thank you. You have identical processes but the amounts in the processes are different? If you edit your question, you can directly upload images to the forum server, that is better than posting links. Thank you again, Andreas

Thank you for your time. What I mean by processes mean that when a unit process is produced, we most times link the step to another process called MULTI-OUTPUT PROCESS:

For example, if you have a process of  soybean meal production..you will have cultivation process as STEP 1 and the cultivation process will go as input for the NEXT PROCESS of soybean meal processing.

STEP 1
soybean cultivation inputs:
Fertilizer
pesticides
water
tillage

OUTPUT
Soymean grain -----1kg

STEP 2
Then Soybean processing input:
Milling Kwh
Drying MJ
Soybean  grain(OUTPUT) -----1kg

OUTPUT
Soybean meal (OUTPUT)

This is an example of multi-output process of soybean meal production

ok so the cultivation process will not go as input to the next process but the product of this process will be input to the next process. Ideally post a picture of the model graph and processes.

Okay, I will post this sanley image of the process being linked to the other process on and on till the last production part.
I will update the post to add the images.

Hi,

To understand my position better, I would like you to watch this tutorial video where multi-output process is used.
