I am a recent user of the software and also in lifecycle analyses. I would like to know how I indicate the outputs that have a negative impact on my analysis when creating a process. Do I do this when indicating the output category?

Hi Vitor,

Could you clarify a bit more? What do you mean by negative impact on your analysis? You indicate inflows and outflows with positive values (except for some waste treatment negatives in earlier versions). You do not decide whether the impact is negative or positive by entering a positive or negative value.

By negative impacts I mean emissions and things like that. I am using the software to assess the impact of producing a material from waste. Thank you for the answer in advance.

Please see the image. All 'red' are input flows to a process, while the green are output flows. This is only to illustrate how you can think of flows in terms of logical material flows. All flow values (input or output) are positive numbers, except for using double negative in certain old ways of treating waste.

Hope this addresses and clarifies what you intended.
