I used to use openlca for CI calculation for years on a windows system and had no issue. currently I started using openlca on a macOS (macOS Monterey) and Ive been struggling with importing my database into the app. I was wondering if anyone has experienced this issue before and how it got solved.

What is exactly the struggle, since I always use MacOS and never had issue with zolca files? The zolca databases are not recognized as archives from MacOS and will not decompress automatically, but what Andreas wrote is true for zip files (JSON-LD, ILCD). Safari-Browser in MacOS will automatically unpack zip-files when successfully downloaded by default, but it can be switched off in Safari settings.

Thanks Cornad for the follow up information. the problem got solved by unchecking automatic unzipping.

The zolca files are "agnostic" to the computer operation system, so this should be easily possible, the only thing is to tell Safari / Mac to not already unzip zip files when they are downloaded, as zolca files are compressed, and after a "decompression" openLCA does not understand them any more. This is an option in Safari and on a Mac. Then you can simply backup the database from the window system to the Mac system where you can then restore it back again in openLCA. Hope this helps!
