Update Ecoinvent version

Question

Is the method for updating databases described in "Guideline to update user models in Ecoinvent" the only way of updating a database with a new Ecoinvent version? Is there no way of just "refreshing" the background system and still keep user modelled processes and product systems?

I admit I am not aware of the reference you mention (can you post a link?) - since a new ecoinvent version will contain new processes and maybe have some processes removed, this update procedure will need to be specific for each update I am afraid. As indicated elsewhere, we plan to make this easier however with the next release.
