Updating database schema takes quite a long time

Question

Everytime I check on the ecoinvent v 3.1 consequential longtime it requires updating and then if I check on update so it takes quite a long time (20 minutes) for updating. Why does it take so long and may I choose option without update?

I guess you are talking about updating database scheme to openlca1.7? Indeed, this can take quite long (even longer than 20 minutes) but it should only occur once. Once you have finished updating the database scheme this dialogue should no longer popup. I hope this helps.
