Hi!

I don't use Simapro but I will likely encounter Simpro results in the near future. So I want to test some workflows ahead of time.

I'd like to test the import of different Simapro files and I cannot find any simple example files online. (for example a simple process from a public tutorial like a PET Waterbottle)

What would help me would be:

  • A typical SimaPro Process export file (i assume thats a CSV)
  • SimaPro Result export file... or anything that SimaPro exports that would be similar to the Excel Export of openLCA Results (including a contribution tree including the process tree and the respective impacts like)

Any tips on where to download them woudl be super helpful.

Thank you!

Hi, the Excel export of SimaPro is typically just a result table, this cannot be imported into openLCA, but the SimaPro csv files can be quite nicely imported. You can decide to apply a mapping or not, if you import into an empty openLCA database (without flows etc.) and do not apply mapping you can 100% preserve the SimaPro processes (with the "low pop." categories etc.), which can again be exported to SimaPro, but you can also apply the mapping and use processes then in openLCA just as other processes.
