I want to buy an ecoinvent licence to use in openLCA. However, purchasing through openLCA Nexus is not possible for me because Nexus only accepts PayPal, and due to my company’s payment policies and my country restrictions, I cannot pay through PayPal with my business credit card.

My plan is to buy the ecoinvent licence directly through the ecoinvent website using my business credit card, and then register the non-Nexus licence in openLCA Nexus (which requires the additional €400 payment, likely with my personal card).

Before proceeding, I would like to confirm:
If I buy ecoinvent directly from ecoinvent.org and register the non-Nexus licence in Nexus, will I be able to use the database smoothly in openLCA, just as if I had purchased it through Nexus?

I know that manual import of the ecoinvent data packages is theoretically possible, but this is my first LCA project and I would prefer the process to be as simple and error-free as possible.

Yes that is possible, but it is typically better to buy from Nexus directly, we will also share the access to ecoQuery from the ecoinvent.org website if ecoinvent does so too - so far not for the yearyl licenses from us, by decision of ecoinvent - and have about the same price as ecoinvent (roughly, as they recently switched their prices from EUR to CHF).
