Dear OpenLCA community,
Having worked for 12 years with SimaPro I wanted to test OpenLCA now.
I have a question regarding created datasets. We are performing mostly carbon footprints for small and middlesized companies. Therefore we are using standardized datasets from ecoinvent, but separated them for example for diesel into Scope 1 and 3.3 emissions.
Since those are more less standardized and regularly used datasets I wanted to ask whether it is possible to save them as a standard dataset within the ecoinvent database?
Additionally when there is an ecoinvent update in SimaPro we used the same linked datasets and adjusted the allocation for the separatation into Scope 1/2 and 3.3 emissions. So the created datasets wouldn't disappear from the newly updated database but the datasets behind it would just be updated. Is my assumption correct, that I would have to generate all datasets anew, when a new ecoinvent update arrives as the databases are more less kept separate from each other?
