I am working on a prospective LCA for scaling up a laboratory process and have a question regarding the energy estimation for refrigeration.
I've been successfully applying the methodology from Piccinno et al. (2016,
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0959652616308514?via%3Dihub) for most of my process steps. However, I'm struggling to find a clear method for one specific step: such as refrigeration at -18°C for 6 hours. The paper does not seem to cover this.
Could you recommend any papers or established methods for modeling the energy consumption of scaled-up refrigeration processes in an LCA context?
