Goodmorning!

Hoping for help troubleshooting the following problem:

When creating a new flow from scratch in openLCA and changing either Flow Property or Reference Flow Property the program starts loading endlessly and needs to be Force Quit in order to continue, see below for exact input:

Under database --> Flows --> Right click - New Flow --> Insert name --> Change Flow Property from Product to either Elementary or Waste --> Starts loading endlessly.

Running openLCA 2.5.0 on Macbook Pro M1 with 16GB of RAM, memory usage of openLCA configured to 13100 mb, macOS v15.6.1.

Other users in my class are reporting the same issue, sometimes this input works but most of the times the program starts loading endlessly. Thanks in advance!

Hello, this is not normal behaviour - where are the databases for openLCA located? I assume not locally on your computer? Or if yes, the computer has some harddisc space left?

Thank you, Andreas

Hi, thanks for your comment! The databases are stored locally and the harddisc has plenty of space left (>400GB).

I see, see also the reply to this similar question https://ask.openlca.org/9593/issues-with-creating-flows-on-a-mac - which database are you using, is it valid?

Thanks for the link to the other question, I will keep an eye on it. The problem occurs with both databases created from scratch and imported from file (ecoinvent).

(yes but if you validate the database, what is the result? Is it valid?)
