Exiobase 3.9.4 - products

I downloaded the latest version (3.9.4) of exiobase but there are are some problems concerning results.

1. If I apply IPCC 2021 method the results of GHG emissions are 0

2. When I check outputs in dataset I find elementary flow names different from which used in IPCC 2021

3. If I apply a different method (es. EF 3.1) the result is really low compared to which I expect for example

4. I use euros as currency in output but results are defined in dollars but the change rate is not known.

Product Financial service --> obtained 0,005 kgCO2eq/€ (in my opinion is too low) but expected 0,12 kgCO2eq/€ as stated in other platform using the same database version and dataset considering the effect of inflation.

Please define a correct method to use Exiobase in openLCA or give us instruction to modify method or figures in datasets because in this moment is unuseful.

Hello, for this database you need to use the method that comes with it, i.e. EF 3.1 (adapted). Any of the openLCA LCIA Method package methods will not work with Exiobase as the reference flow system is very different. I suggest that you use the method that comes already with the database.

But which is your opinion regarding the big difference between openLCA Exiobase and the value available in other platform (Climatiq for example)?
We are talking about round 100 factor....if I apply this emission factor I could underestimate GHG emissions

I would access to Exiobase v.3.9.4 academic.
It requires a Database Analyser and Launcher from openLCA Nexus and I have it available and valid until 12 April 2026.
Why am I being asked to purchase it again?

Hi,

The academic licence is fine to be obtained with the DAL. For the commercial licence you need to purchase this. This is a requirement from the database providers for v3.9.4 of exiobase.
