Calculation result about EF 3.1

Question

Hi 

I found that there is a difference in the number of analysis items between the simapro and openLCA calculation results using EF3.1.

The results from simapro have “Ecotoxicity, freshwater - part 1”“Ecotoxicity, freshwater - part 2”“Ecotoxicity, freshwater - organics - p.1”“Ecotoxicity, freshwater - organics - p.1”.

The results from OpenLCA only have  “Ecotoxicity, freshwater" and"Ecotoxicity, freshwater - organics”.

I want to know what "part1" "Part2" means.

Hi Liucj,

we implemented the official EF 3.1 method and the respective impact categories. For ecotoxicity there are the impact categories freshwater, freshwater - organics, freshwater - inorganics. So, I guess you have to ask simapro why they have part 1 and 2.

As far as I know, the SimaPro software cannot handle too many CFs in one impact category at once, so they had to split it up.
