Dear OpenLCA Support Team,

I hope you are doing well.

We are currently conducting a Mitacs-funded research project in collaboration with an industrial partner and Concordia University. The project aims to develop Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for several air-cooled magnetic bearing chillers.

As this work involves both academic research and industry collaboration, we would like to confirm which OpenLCA license —educational or commercial —is most appropriate for our case.

In particular, we would like to ask whether the educational license can be used for this purpose, given that the academic supervisor (from Concordia University) will purchase the license, and it will also be used for future academic research and teaching activities.

Your guidance on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much for your help.

Best regards,

Hi Mohammad,

the openLCA license is always the same, Mozilla Public License. You are maybe wondering about a database license. If yes, which database?

You can also write an email to nexus if you do not want to discuss publicly.

Thank you,

Andreas
